The Ferno Full Body Vacuum Mattress utilises vacuum technology to provide comfortable and secure patient immobilisation. Support is provided to the head, spine, hips and legs as the splint moulds to the patient. Full body immobilisation is achieved without inward pressure, thereby reducing the risk of additional trauma. The patient is securely strapped into the splint with three adjustable quick release restraints. Patient comfort is enhanced by a removable pillow which may be inverted to help extend the head for airway management. Both lightweight and reusable, the splint may also be used as a stretcher for simple patient transfer. The unique construction enables X-rays to be performed with the splint in position. An optional carry bag is available for convenient storage and protection of the splint. Made from nylon with a waterproof backing, the bag has a large zip for quick access.
