Winner of an Australian Design Award, the Ferno 50-E Ambulance Stretcher was developed in Australia in consultation with various ambulance services personnel and ergonomists. The 50-E stretcher offers enhanced ergonomics and manoeuvrability.
Carefully designed features make the 50-E stretcher easy to load, reducing the physical impact on the operator. Advanced geometry makes this stretcher easy to operate; the user pulls one handle to break the front legs while the rear legs stay locked and take the weight of the stretcher and patient. As the stretcher rolls into the ambulance, intermediate wheels roll on to the ambulance floor taking weight off the rear legs. Once the rear leg touch bar comes in contact with the ambulance the rear legs automatically release, fold and load. Throughout the loading sequence only a small proportion of the weight is carried by the operator, resulting in safe and comfortable transportation of patients.
